another wip update!

Update from yesterday's post. Added the armor, and clothes. All were made in Maya and sculpted in Zbrush. Next, texturing and rendering.

Village Girl


Happy Ramadhan and happy fasting to all my fasting (and not fasting) friends. 1st weekend of fasting month, and as usuall, I'll try to keep busy on the weekends to try to create something new. This is 3d model of a fictional character. Let's just call her......erm.. Kak Siti...wait2, too typical...hmm.. Kak Ros.. no no no....call her... Kak Ani....The model took me about 6 hours i think to model and texture. I use Facegen to create the face and ncloth to simulate the baju kurung and tudung. Then sculpt a bit in zbrush especially at the tudung area. The cloth simulation for tudung looks more like alas meja than supposedly the tudung. Texture in photoshop, and then rendering in Maya software. I tried to render in Mental Ray, but i sucks in MR settings. So I just used method that I comfortable with. After render, compositing in Photoshop. ~Done

Merdeka modelling practice

Nearly a month without update. Now I have a job as a 3d modeller in Shock3d. Don't have time to touch maya at home. Balik kerja, tido, bgn pagi pergi kerja. Everydya i'll woke up at 6.50, 7.30 went to the bus stop, then take LRT to KL sentral. Then take a bus to TTDI. It took me 2 hours per trip. huhu. That is my daily routine now. :p .. For this project, i somehow inspired to do model of chedet/tun mhathir...Maybe Merdeka is coming next week and i get patriotic somehow :p.   So this is it. It took me 5-7 hours to finish it i guess, minus the time i took to play games, golek2, eat and watch tv. I used Facegen to generate the basic shape of the face, then export it into roadkill to do uv unwrap. Then export to zbrush to sculpt2. then i projected some images of chedet onto the model, brush2 suclpt2 here and then finish.

Abu completed!



Yeay! Abu is finally complete. It took me 2 days to learn the process of uv pelting that would only took several minutes to do.  Argh, what a waste of time. Abu's cloth was simulated by ncloth. I learnt from my mistakes of ncloth from my fyp. I then realized that the way i modelled the cloth in my fyp is wrong. Huhuu.  Rendered in maya software and maya vector, then photoshop it. Then, voila!

Updates on Abu


Just started modeling Abu. Finished rough model of Abu's body, face hair and tengkolok. Tomorrow start model the shirt, sash, trousers, only then start tu sculp a bit in zbrush. This is my 1st time modeling using the box modeling method. I like how it turns out. I can still manage to get the correct shape but in the same time maintain the polycount and topography. :p Abu's body proportion is a bit stylized. Feet and hands are bigger than his face. Very thin arms and legs, but a bit muscular.

If some of u guys wondering, "hey, it seems very familiar.. Looks like Afro Samurai"...The answer is yes. I straighforwardly trace it from Afro Samurai wallpaper and memelayukan si abang negro itu...:p Just like I said, this is just a practise. Che Mat once said, if you can't draw, TRACE IT!!...Soon, you will get the stroke. So, that what i did. I'm so noob in drawing

It's been a while....

It's been a while since my last update. Pretty busy with my sister's wedding here and at Pahang, helping abah, tidy up the house and a little bit distracted to the new games that i bought ^.^ GRID and Mass Effect PC is awesome!! . Now i can concerntrate to finishing my project (hopefully) The monsera texturing done, still need to add minor details to the body such as chains and fur. Later on, I'll post the screenies. Now i'm modelling 2nd character, a human infantry. Still in early stages, currently sculpting in zbrush.  Struggling to finish it as soon as possible and put it into my demo reel, after FA showcase, i want to start applying for the job.

FA Showcase 2008 !!!!! w00t!!!


FA Showcase 08, coming soon this July at your nearest KL Tower..hahaha..It is an annually event organized by the graduated students themselves every year. There will be student's Final Year Projects screening at on top of the tower and at the Amphitheater below! Wow!! Come and support us for this event! Admission is free!!

monsera remake



Its been a while since my last update. I've been busy with my sister's wedding preparation, (tlong buat hantaran, kemas2 umah, cat sana-sini), and pindah2 rumah cari2 rumah nnt nak keja lg. Fuh.. -.-!

This is my current project, a remake from my previous 3d monster back in gamma years. That was my 1st time i use zbrush. I have always wanted to remodel since then but don't have time.
The model is still work in progress...I use maya and zbrush 3.1...I'll try to finish it asap ;)

Alien Encounter Animation!



This is the final animation for my FYP groupwork. Wan, Hadi, Anis, its really nice working with u guys throughout the final year. To Si Ying, thx for finding the songs for my the animation. All my friends, housemate2 yg best gile mcm *&$#&@$ , all my coursemate, all the joy, laughter, blood, sweat and tears (duit terbang byk, x cukup tido mate bengkak2) through out my studies in MMU is a memorable moment indeed. =)

Alien Encounter Poster!


This is my FYP poster, Alien Encounter. I'm quite satisfied with the outcome of the poster. During the process, need to render in A2!!..fuhh..nsib baik pc larat nk render. That kid's name is Nia, and originally in my rough sketches, there should be 2 alien heads at the window, but i'm too lazy to pose another one character. T_T
